How It Works
This calculator uses the Sabine equation in reverse: from your target RT60, it computes the total absorption needed (A = 0.161V / RT60), then subtracts your current absorption to find how much the panels must add. Each panel's net contribution is its area × (panel absorption coefficient - wall absorption it covers). A standard 2'×4' (0.6×1.2m = 0.72 m²) panel with 2" rockwool has α ≈ 0.85 at mid frequencies. Aim for 25-40% wall coverage in mixing rooms.
