How It Works
Series wiring: Ztotal = Z1 + Z2 + ... (impedance adds up). Parallel wiring: 1/Ztotal = 1/Z1 + 1/Z2 + ... (impedance decreases). Two 8Ω speakers: series = 16Ω, parallel = 4Ω. Never go below your amp's minimum rated impedance (usually 2-4Ω) — it can overheat or shut down. Series-parallel (4 speakers in 2 pairs) maintains the original impedance. Power delivery: P = V²/Z, so lower impedance draws more power (and current) from the amp.
